DanceFit has a diverse selection of movement classes including dance technique, dance-fitness, and body-mind classes. Classes are taught by trained professionals and follow all exercise and fitness guidelines for safe and effective training. All of our classes are custom designed and are unique in format and style incorporating principles of natural movement that can be applied functionally to all aspects of daily living. Classes are joint-friendly, safe, effective, balanced and energizing targeting the whole you. Perfect for all levels and ages.

DESCRIPTIONS

 ACTING BASICS

ACTING SKILLS WORKSHOP basic skills workshops to help you be the best you can be when presenting yourself.

In this class, you will work with an expert coach in a small group setting.  Gain insight from one-to-one sessions with industry professionals.  You will learn new skills, techniques, and tips and get feedback and critique to be your best when performing on stage, video, TV, or in any venue. Includes audition techniques and tips.

You must register in advance for this class.

AFRO-KARIB

AFRO-KARIB Afro-Caribbean workouts combines moves from African, Latin, and Caribbean dance.

BODY SHOP

BODYSHOP For those who need to set smart behavior modification goals, monitor progress, and assure achievement of their goals.

You will meet once weekly for group work (similar to Weight Watchers) without an additional charge and join into regular classes or use a program that has been developed especially for you.

Program includes diet and workout plans for cardiovascular health, lifestyle changes, and meal plans.

If you want to burn lots of calories and get rid of flab and design a new outlook on living, this is the class for you.  

BOOTCAMP

BEFIT keeps you in shape, burn belly fat, and tone up... great for total body conditioning.

(Benefits: Maximized Fat-Burning, Improved Cardiovascular Strength, Toned Muscles, Improved Balance & Increased Flexibility with Stretching.)

This a high intensity and invigorating total body workout is designed to burn calories and to improve cardiovascular and muscular strength. Lots of athletic conditioning and training. Includes HAT'S Off (Hips, Abs & Arms, Thighs) and ACE (Amazing Cardio/Muscular Endurance) for a total body workout. Improves cardiovascular and muscle strength and endurance. All parts of the body worked for burning fat and calories, developing muscle tone, increasing energy, and stretching. Cardio segments are varied for intensity, variety and fun.

CARDIOFLEX

CARDIOFLEX to get in shape, burn some fat and tone up.

(Benefits: Maximized Fat-Burning, Weight Loss, Improved Cardiovascular Strength, Toned Muscles with Resistance Training, Improved Balance & Increased Flexibility with Stretching.)

This fun and invigorating total body conditioning class is designed to burn loads of calories; tone your muscles and increase your metabolic set point. Excellent for those who want to increase muscle tone and to lose unwanted fat. You get to workout at your own level as you progress. It is low to moderate intensity and impact. You will also benefit from improved coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility.

Love to dance? Cardio dance class that frees the body, enlivens the spirit, and strengthens the soul. Combines the best of traditional dance (ballet, jazz, funk, tap, modern, African, Carribbean), yoga, tai chi, and ethinic dancing that is easy to follow and fun to do. Just as you will sculpt your body, you breathe easier, increase stamina, and improve alertness. Gain fitness, strength and increased flexibility dancing to all types of music. DanceFit combines the best moves from traditional dance techniques like African, jazz, modern, ballet, hip hop, Latin, and Improvisation. DanceFit maximizes fat burning, strengthens your body, expands the mind, and will lift your spirit.  All ages, conditions and levels, beginner to advanced can join in the fun. Workouts are joint-friendly, safe, and effective.

HIPHOP

HIPHOP is the class for fun music, dancing and moving to the latest hip hop and street beats!

To the hip to the hop for an energized street funk class. Fuses together jazz funk, hip hop, street jazz, funk and break dance in a basic workout for all levels of fitness. You will have a jammin good time with great music! HipHop, Break Dancing, Street Funk, and FreeStyle are some of the best dance programs for loads of fun and benefits such as total body conditioning, strength, flexibility, rhythm and coordination.

 KIDSFIT

KIDSFIT class is an exploratory movement and games for kids ages 3-6.  

(Benefits: We focus on attention span, spacial awareness, motor skills, learning style, technique and interests.)

KidsFit is about creative exploratory movement full of fun, games, dancing, improvisation and fitness. Our philosophy is to help kids develop their muscles and bones naturally in play activities and then to introduce them into structured dance activities.

 KIDSDANCE

KIDSDANCE-dance technique classes for kids ages 7-13.

(Benefits: poise, posture development, self-discipline, self-control, self-esteem, and personal growth.)  

KidsDance includes dance technique (ballet, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop, African, tumbling, and improvisation).

 MATCORE

MATCORE-to strengthen and tone the abs, back and body conditioning.

(Benefits: This class will help you to maintain a strong core, balance, agility, and stronger muscles. Great for those with weak joints and need to work on abdominal and back strength.)

MatCore/Pilates focuses on core muscle strength and coordination while conditioning the entire body. Develops tone, strength, and flexibility. MatCore is for those who want to create more energy and rejuvenate your life. You will practice effective ways to release tense muscles and use your body more efficiently including breathing techniques, how to flatten your abs and shape your mid section, how to improve your posture, how to improve muscle tone and increase strength and flexibility, and how to reduce stress and increase stamina. Fusion of Pilates and Core Muscle Training.

 MOVING ENERGY

MOVING ENERGY movements for more energy, vitality, creativity and release.

MovingEnergy brings out the best in all of us. A new way of thinking about body/mind in motion. You are the choreographer and movement is the teacher in this fun and energizing class. This way of dynamic dancing will free your mind & energize your soul.

 SENIOR BALLET

SENIOR BALLET-ballet technique for those who are seniors and/or limited mobility and flexibility.

(Benefits: Balance, Strength, Muscle Development, Coordination and Flexibility)

 Traditional ballet technique fused with movements to increase hip and joint strength and flexibility. Works with balance and stability. The class moves a slow pace so that all can progress together.

SENIOR DANCEFIT

SENIOR DANCEFIT is about improving mobility and cardiovascul strength while burning calories, improving coordination and balance and having fun!

(Benefits: Cardiovascular Endurance, Burn Fat and Calories, Strengthened Heart, Fun, Improved Balance, Strength & Increased Flexibility)

Love to dance? This dance class for senior allows you to move at your own pace with music that makes you feel good from your head to your toes. It will help to free the body, enlivens the spirit, and strengthens the soul by increasing circulation and protecting your joints and bones. Combines the best of Broadway jazz, big band music, and any other dance styles that the group chooses. All dance steps are easy to follow and fun to do. Workouts are joint-friendly, safe, and effective; designed just for seniors.  All conditions and levels are welcome to attend.

 YOGABEING

YOGABEING mixed style hatha yoga with breathing and relaxation.

(Benefits: General wellness, balance, strength, endurance, stress reduction, fat burning and flexibility.)

 Become strong, centered and stretched in this mixed level safe and effective yoga class. YogaBeing is a mixed style yoga program. We practice asanas (bodily control) and pranayama (breath control) and relaxation techniques. The purpose is to link the intentional movement of the body to the intentional movement of the breath.

 YOGAFLOW

YOGAFLOW flow style hatha yoga class.

(Benefits: General wellness, balance, strength, endurance, stress reduction, fat burning and flexibility.)

 YogaFlow brings basic yoga poses linked together in a flowing style with asanas that are also taught in the traditional way. Great for all levels because of the different variations and progressions used. Includes breathing technique and deep relaxation for developing strength, flexibility and improved posture.

 YOGALIGHT

YOGALIGHT hatha yoga with breathing and relaxation for seniors or those with limited mobility and flexibility.

 YogaLight is a hatha yoga program designed to meet the specialized needs of those new to yoga, beginners, seniors, and those with limited mobility. This class combines yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques.
